Abstract: A smart village is a rural community that leverages technology and data-driven solutions to enhance various aspects of life. This includes the integration of smart infrastructure, efficient use of resources, improved education services, skill development and adoption of digital tools for sustainable business management. Uttarakhand has rich cultural heritage in form of various customs, cuisines, arts & crafts. 27 products in agriculture, food, handicraft & manufactured goods categories have received GI tags in Uttarakhand so far. Uttarakhand's hilly regions thrive on diverse tourism businesses including pilgrimage tourism, eco-tourism, adventure tourism and wellness tourism. Additionally, there is a flourishing market for homestays, promoting a more authentic experience for travellers. This research paper explores the integration of smart village concepts to foster sustainable business practices in the challenging terrain of Uttarakhand's hilly regions. Recognizing the unique geographical and socio-economic characteristics of the region, the study investigates the feasibility and potential impact of implementing smart technologies to enhance economic activities, resource management and inclusive development.
