Abstract

One of the main global health concerns is neurological illnesses. Modified lifestyle choices are linked to a significantly higher risk of developing chronic illnesses and diseases, which places a significant financial and healthcare burden on society everywhere. The goal of research is to cure sick conditions well while exposing patients to as few adverse consequences as possible. A number of studies on functional foods have been started in the past few decades in an effort to find foods with higher therapeutic activity and fewer adverse effects. Therefore, an endeavor has been undertaken to decipher various extraction methodologies in order to obtain crucial bioactive substances or phytochemicals from food products that have medicinal properties. As a result, the word "functional foods" has been confused with other concepts that are similar, such as "pharmafoods," "medifoods," "vitafoods," or "medical foods." Nutraceuticals are in high demand as a means of countering neurological interventions, as there is an urgent need to adhere to healthy solutions. Nutraceuticals have been suggested as a preventive treatment for neurological treatments due to the demonstrated link between dietary habits and lifestyle choices and neurodegeneration. Some of the most common neurological conditions are included in the current review, along with the role of nutraceutical therapy in disease prevention[1,5,11,25,110].
